Ockley – Graduation EP

Super Gifted Singer Ockley releases his much-anticipated EP titled “Graduation“. It is composed of 13 tracks that feature a blend of soul, Kalindula, Trap, House, Afro-pop, R&B and Dance.

Graduation EP is influenced by so many things and experiences in life and World Too. I was graduating from University on the 21st of November and it was my birthday too, and before I planned to record the body of work or my music as a shift from where I was before with the singles Main One and Chikondi to a better version of me. Generally, the title and the project is an identity of levelling up or moving to a greater and higher stage than where I was before. And some of the songs on the project like Single Mama and Africa.

Graduation EP was mainly influenced by Western Africa and South Africa by the likes of 2 Face, Akon though he’s American too, P Square, Wizkid, Liquideep, Casper Nyovest, AKA, The Soil and many more and this too highly influence my perspective with regards to music. So I begun to write music according to how I felt, it’s all how I feel in a moment and I choose to speak about things and one minute I sing about having fun, the other I sing about my people and where I come from, I sing about Africa, I sing about single moms. All in all, I want people to be able to appreciate the music as it is, as it speaks if they relate. After all, music is a universal language. As an artist I always want people to respect my music and I can only earn it by giving my very best. That’s why I take it too seriously and I want the people where I come from to be respected too. They are the reason why I am here today.

The production on the EP was handled by Bwalya “Ockley” Manjoni, Icetrx, Mixtizo, and Victorious Music X.
