Muzo Aka Alphonso Has Finished a Six-month Rehab Program

The Great North Road Rehabilitation Centre has successfully discharged Zambian artist Muzo Aka Alphonso.

The Great North Road Rehabilitation Centre is pleased to announce the successful discharge of Zambian musician Musonda Chishimba, widely known as Muzo Aka Alphonso, following a comprehensive six-month rehabilitation program.

Muzo was admitted to the Centre to receive intensive support and care following a challenging period. During his stay, he underwent a tailored recovery journey that included individual therapy sessions, structured wellness programmes, creative engagement, and in-person mentorship sessions with the Rehabilitation Center CEO, Dr. Rozious Siatwambo, whose sessions focused on developing Muzo’s potential and fostering a renewed sense of purpose beyond recovery. All these sessions played a meaningful role in nurturing his emotional resilience and personal development.

At the Rehabilitation Center, Muzo made significant progress in rebuilding confidence and improving social interaction, actively engaging with both clients and staff. A key milestone of his time while at the Rehabilitation Centre was the recording and release of a song, which not only reignited his passion for music but also underscored the transformative role that the Rehabilitation sessions play.

Great North Road Rehabilitation Centre approaches rehabilitation as a holistic process, one that addresses both the clinical and human aspects of healing. Muzo’s journey highlights the potential of a client-centred, multidisciplinary model that integrates therapy, mentorship, wellness, and personal growth. While Muzo’s formal discharge took place today, it is essential to note that this decision was primarily influenced by the family’s considerations, rather than solely based on the Rehab Centre’s clinical recommendation. In alignment with their professional ethics, they respect the family’s decision and remain supportive of Muzo’s long-term well-being even outside of the center.
