Meet Fast-rising Zambian Hip-hop artist, Geezy2126

Aggrey Maunga, known as Geezy2126, was born on October 8, 1997. He is a multi-talented Zambian artist who excels in hip-hop, songwriting, vocals, and education. Geezy2126’s passion for music blossomed at 12, and in 2015, he launched his debut song, “We Roll.” After graduating from Chinika High School, he furthered his education at the University of Lusaka, where he pursued a degree in Development Studies.

The rapper Geezy2126 has credited his former music producer, K-Man (MHSRIP), as his source of inspiration. Geezy2126 reportedly has more than 47 songs under his belt. In 2013, Geezy2126, along with his friends “End Cool” (now “Mr. Miles”) and Young Flame (now “Thee Lessons”), formed a music group called “Young Generation Music” (YGM) in Lusaka’s Kanyama compound. In 2016, the trio, under YGM, collaborated on a track titled “Rewind” featuring the renowned hip-hop artist “Stevo the Rap Guru.” They also created hits such as “Essential,” “Look at Me,” and “How Many Times,” which received considerable airplay.

By the end of 2017, the trio went their separate ways, signalling the end of their collaboration. However, Geezy2126 continued to pursue his music career, producing chart-toppers such as “Pending Bills,” produced by Daddy Mix in the border town of Nakonde, Muchinga. Geezy2126 also teamed up with Majestic Sounds from the Copperbelt, achieving success with tracks like “Don’t Lose Hope,” “Nenzo Sakila,” and “St Ann.”
